How can I find a true (I emphasize "true") qi gong master in the New York City area?

Question:

Answers:
First you should ask yourself:
Why is it that you want to learn these arts?

If the answer to that question is:
So that I may better defend myself.

Then you should look deeper into your minds own maelstorm of thoughts.to find out exactly why it is that you feel that your own skills are inadequate.
And if the simple addition of more skills is the true solution to your dilemna.
Often times these arts are misconstrued to the point of clouding their reason for being.
The Martial Arts are more than just style and technique utilized in combat.
They are meant as a stepping stone to true mental enlightenment, with the added benefit of a healthy body to balance out your own "inner self".

Now if i may pose this question to you.
What are you afraid of?

Other Answers:
You should join the YMCA at 47th Street where there are karate classes. Or any gym with kungfu classes. By engaging the instructors and students in conversation about qi gong, you will learn of a good master. (I'd believe that the master would practice in Chinatown.)

Qi gong is about meditation and positive energy, and communing with fellow martial artists is an ideal way to find a real master. The alternative is to join a good buddhist temple or a buddhist zendo where your fellow practictioners may know of a good qi gong master.

I met Kam Yuen at the New Life Expo and had a session with him, it was amazing! I guess hes now in LA. The expo is held twice a year at the New Yorker hotel in NYC, I think the next one is in Oct. Usually there are many people there who could probably steer you towards someone good.If you go Ill see you there, I've been going for over twenty years now and almost always find something new and exciting there!http://www.newlifemag.com/media/Newlife-Expo-Oct-04.pdf#search='newlifeexpo'
