Addicted to foot massage?


Question:
What does it mean? i literally cannot go to sleep unless my boyfriend gives me foot massage. sometimes i try to do it myself, like (it sounds crazy but) :) beating one foot with the other... i dont' like pain but seem to need excessive physical stimulation. can it mean my body is not getting enough exercise, or what? Thanks

What did you do before you had a boyfriend to massage your feet? Just kidding. It is possible you have what we call, "restless leg syndrome". It can be treated in two ways. One is with prescription medicines, and the alternative is foot and leg massage. We in the alternative medicine clique, prefer the latter, if you can be so fortunate as to find someone willing to help you out. If he is not there for you, try taking a niacin tablet, (preferably 250 mg - timed release), about two hours before going to bed, followed by one or two slices of toast with cinnamon and honey, (no sugar or butter)! Best if washed down with a small glass of warm milk.

Everyone has a slightly different way to relax themselves. For you it is massage. I definitely wouldn't worry about it. If you can give yourself one with your hands or the other foot then that is fine for when your boyfriend is not around and when he is just make sure you are very nice or you can trade massages. Most guys love them. I would say it is a phase that will pass.
Reflexology is an amazing practice for all types of imbalances. You might be surprised to find that taking a walk in the grass barefoot will help balance restless energy. Also walking barefoot across gravel can work as a self induced form of accupressure associated with reflexology. Or if you can you might take a 15 min. swim or even a soaking bath. Hope this helps.
I agree, Reflexology is amazing! That could be why you need that stimulation in order to relax...get a foot roller that has little "knobby" things on it, that you could use. Also, try lavender or patchouli essential oil to help you relax as well.
