Will Aetna cover an out of network visit to a naturopath?

Question:
How difficult do they make it? And is a naturopath considered a specialist?

Answers:
I don't know if this would apply to you but when we lived in CA United Healthcare wouldn't pay a dime towards my baby to be born at home. We had to pay everything out of pocket ($1600). So, when we moved to Texas they did cover it 100% for our next homebirth($4000+). Same insurance, same plan, different state and almost triple what the first one cost! So much for CA being so progessive. Texas is much more homebirth and homeschool friendly too! Just MHO... ;)
Maybe this'll help you keep searching. God bless you!
No chance at all.
When I was in clinical (in Harrisburg, Pa) at a sleep lab, I heard a funny saying about Aetna. Aetna: ain't getting a dime. They don't pay for sleep studies or home CPAP, both are potentially life saving. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't cover a lot of other things. Crappy US private health care. Move to Canada and we will take care of you.
I don't think Aetna would cover a visit to a naturopath any more than they would for a wizard or snake oil salesman.Yeah...they are specialists all right.
