If you are overweight, losing weight will reduce your blood pressure. Also, try to get some exercise--starting easy at first. Reduce the stress in your life. There are herbal medicines that you can buy over the counter also. Eating less sodium sometimes reduces blood pressure.

In 1998, some scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize for discovering what relaxes arteries, which if you think about it, lowers blood pressure.

It is nitric oxide. The main source of nitric oxide is l-arginine an amino acid.

Several studies have shown that patients with high blood pressure were able to normalize their blood pressure with l-arginine.

Good luck and be well.

Yoga and meditation are great as well
Garlic supplement
What worked for me: eating bananas, using garlic tablets, avoiding sodium, eating less meat, exercising (mostly walking...although I do stretching exercise, use small weights, and chinups) and losing weight.
One more thing: deep breathing...you know, take a slow, deep breath, hold it, slowly let it out...
I've heard meditation and yoga, etc., helps. I guess the thing is to clear your mind...I visualize the waves at the beach, the wind soughing through the pines in the mountains, family, calm things...
Good luck!
Yes!! Green Tea...please google it and research it, it boosts metabolism, betters your mood, helps with cholesterol, blood pressure, it absorbs fat, it contains flouride.... what doesnt it do. But dont use the tea bags, go straight for the loose leaf green teas from either China or Japan. Its cheap, its been around for centuries, and its good for your body all around. I have been drinking it for a month, and it slimmed my mid section, and i have lots of energy to work out.

Garlic helps (preferably odourless garlic).

Fish oil helps a bit.

Vitamin E helps a bit, especially together with selenium.

Vitamin C helps a bit.

Hawthorn helps, especially together with coleus.

Potassium helps so plenty of fruit and vegies would help.

Reduce your table salt (sodium) intake.

Abolish caffeine altogether or have your tea or coffee as dilute and weak as possible.

Plenty of exercise also helps a lot.

Coenzyme Q10 helps as well.
Did anyone mention eliminating caffeine?
Wow some wordy answers, I confess I didn't read them all the way, but my Mom takes Garlic and exercises. She lost weight and got off the pills to lower it. Cut the salt, She says she feels good and I hope this helps you...

She said to tell you, walk at least 45 Min's to an hour it doesn't have to be real fast =)
Exercise and healthy diet combined with stress management. Drink a lot of water so your body doesn't retain it. I know, it sounds wrong, but it isn't more water, trust me.
