All opiates ar very addictive, and though they do prescribe codeine cough syrups to children you might find yourself with a cough more frequently than you would otherwise expect. Your mind will create symptems to convince your actions. there are much safer natural remedies for cough particularly expecterants. We cough because there is something in our lungs that needs to come out. Unless you have something cronic like asthma but then you need to seek advice from someone who can give you a thourough examination. Unfrotunately the medical feild is quick to [subscribe] things to eleviate our symptoms instead of curing the problems so try to find a holistic physician. good luck
obviously theres some confusion here.
1. It does vary from person to person depeding on body mass and psychological stability.
2. If you are taking these for genuine pain there should be no risk of addition, as long as you stop when the pain stops.
3. if yourtaking these for recreational purposes, it depends on what you think is addicted. Codeine is VERY addictive and very hard to get off, so if you are, i suggest you stop immediatey
You can become addicted on one a week. If you can't do without it, it is an addiction.
Have you seen a doctor about this cough? Is it asthma? Is the vicodin/codeine prescribed by this doctor, or did you get it for something else and it works on your cough?
If it is not prescribed by the doctor for the cough, you need to see doctor for the cough. It could be something like asthma that you just need to do inhaler twice a day...much less dangerous than vicoden. If it was prescribed for cough for doctor, why this med and not something else? Have you spoken to doctor about your concerns about addictions? This is what you need to do. If you are worried about addiction, then I would stop, now. This is not generally the type of medicine that is prescribed for cough unless the underlying cause of the cough is being treated.
