Not sure what the basis is for your question. Physical Therapists perform physical therapy under the prescription of a Medical Doctor. All of what they learn and do is supported by medical science, or MD's woulnd't refer to them.
Chiropractic education is a seperate, parallel education program. All of my teachers in school were either PHD's, medical doctors or chiropractors. Chiropractic is well supported by research by RAND, several major government studies and research by Chiropractic research institutions. The AMA is an organization for medical doctors. Osteopaths were at some time taken into the medical system, and chiropractors remained seperate (even though many techniques and theories are similar). Chiropractors belong to the ACA (I'll give you a guess what that stands for), or State organizations.
Many medical doctors refer patients also to Chiropractors, and this has been increasing in past years, plus many sit on insurance panels, so the divisions between the two are decreasing, although overall acceptance in the medical community could be a lot better. Hope this clarifies.
It's because the groups that support them refused to join the American Medical Association. It has nothing to do with validation and everything to do with capitulation to a monopoly.
