no need for thanks
I am an acupuncturist, and we use magnets in clinical work often to align a patients energy, and to even tonify their qi by placing magnets on acupuncture points & internally as medicine.

The first recorded use in Chinese medicine was from the Yellow Emporer Classic of Internal Medicine dating back to around 2697BC!

I was curious about how magnets worked on the body and read volumes of information to clarify the actions. For this format, I will have to be very general regarding a very technical field.

A magnet is a material containing unpaired electrons that all have the same direction of spin, and whose axes of spin are all aligned in the same direction. The force of this spin can influence electricity.

In anatomy/physiology courses, you become very aware that the body has bio-electrical energy pulsing through it, affecting all systems. Magnets tend to organize electical impulses (have you ever seen a magnet line up little shards of metal?).

So in your body, when the bioelectrical energy is disrupted or caotic, the magnets help to smooth the flow of energy. We (very loosely) refer to this energy as Qi, but every system of healing has it's own way of explaining things.

In acupuncture, we help to restore health and reduce pain by directing qi to flow uninpeded and smoothly through channels. Magnets do the same thing in a different way.

We use magnets to treat every kind of physical and mental disorder, so there are no limits if you know were to place them, or if you simply place them over painful areas.

Hope this helps to explain! Also, I typically don't recommend magnets for patients on pace makers.
Recent research by scientist seems to indicate that magnetic fields do no harm to the human body however my instinct tells me that they are neutral and do no good either
