Is echinacea a preventative or a treatment for adjectives colds/flu?

also has anybody found this have worked for them as i have in recent times read that it does nothing but i hold heard race talk almost it

Answers:    According to NIH/NCCAM:

*Studies indicate that echinacea does not appear to prevent colds or other infections.
*Studies to date have not proven that echinacea shortens the course of colds or flu. For example, two NCCAM-funded studies did not find a benefit from echinacea, any as Echinacea purpurea fresh-pressed juice for treating colds within children, or as an unrefined mixture of Echinacea angustifolia root and Echinacea purpurea root and herb in adults.

NIH/NCCAM is pro-Altmed, so this is a outstandingly negative statement.

Any statement suggesting echinacea could engender your immune system "too powerful", is bullbleep.
It's only preventative. There's also particularly little evidence that it has any authentic effect.
