Are you comparing Reiki with drugs? The results you get from Reiki are only measurable through the subjective experience. You become relaxed. You feel lots of warmth from a persons hands. Sometimes you fall asleep. And you always have difficulty getting off the massage table because your body doesn't want to move. You get more relaxed then a good nights sleep. Now the things you can't measure are the healing energy that helps the body and mind become one with each other. The heart slows down, the breathing slows down. In that extremely relaxed state your body now can start the healing process. After the session you can also feel light headed or not quite connected to your body. This only lasts a few minutes. During the session its possible to see beyond your body. Or have visions from the past. Sometimes the body muscles may jerk or a smell may manifest that wasn't there before. These are subtle experience that happen during a Reiki healing session. Reiki can also make energy move around inside you. Sometimes it feels like something is moving. Warmth can travel from one part of the body to another. These are some of the experiences felt by a person receiving Reiki. The person channeling Reiki have a whole different set of experiences. I won't give away the secret, ha ha.
