Is Robaxin like Percocet?

Question:

I have serious back problems from a recent vehicle accident I was in. I ran out of percocet's and I have nothing but Robaxin..is it kinda the same? What's the difference? Is there a high effect? I just need something to relax me and make my back not hurt and put me to sleep also. Percocet's do all that but I don't know if Robaxin does...?

I take Robaxin (Methocarbamol) and Vicodin (have been given Percocet at times) as well as Ibuprofen 600's for DDD and arthritis in my back. The Robaxin is a muscle relaxer, as others have stated, and the Percocet a pain reliever. I get a lot of help from the Robaxin but not in the same way as taking a vicodin, not better or worse.just different. I do feel relaxed when I take it, just no weird high feeling like from the vicodin. If you dont have Percocet and cant get a refill from your doc I would advise taking one or two of your Robaxin and about 600mg's of Ibuprofen. Ice/Hot pack your back...5 min ice, 5 min hot for 30min or so several times a day. Hope you feel better!

Percocet is a narcotic that is known for its ability to minimize pain and its calming effect on the body. Robaxin is a muscle relaxer that it usually given to arthritis patients. It does provide relief for painful muscles; but it may not be as effective (pain relief wise) as Percocet. However, it will relax you and provide some form of relief. Hope this helps. Rabaxin is a muscle relaxer that works on skeletal muscles. Percocet works on the central nervous system, which more or less interrupts pain signals. The Robaxin should help, also try moist heat (damp towel between heating pad and injury site).
Be careful mixing any drugs though without professional advice.
