To OD doesn't necessarily mean that you are trying to kill yourself or that you will kill yourself.

A drug overdose is the accidental or intentional use of a drug or medicine in an amount that is higher than is normally used.
Anyway, It all depends on what sleeping pills (and dose) you are taking.
OD'ing is not fun for anyone involved, so don't bother doing it.

OD'ing is really not all as glamorous as depicted on television or anywhere else.
In fact....trying to kill yourself can be over rated. Seriously.
Anybody can kill themselves.but it takes a person, an individual like yourself, to find a better avenue to deal with all the crap that the world or whatever or whoever is flinging at them.
Why let whatever it is that is making you(or whoever) win by defeating you. And OD'ing or ending your life would be just that....'letting the bastards win'.
So pick up your face and throw back your shoulders and take a deep breath. Because you (or whoever) ARE a worthy person that is able to put a smile on someones face that could use it. Try it.
Now, I don't know if you are asking this question for the reason of having someone, somewhere miss out on a smile that they probably really need. And that would be what would happen if it is you that decides to end your life.
Or maybe it's someone near to you that is thinking about ending their life..
OR..maybe you are just doing a paper for some reason on this subject..
But, whatever the reason...I am telling you truth.

There's more of this type of question today than normal.it makes a person wonder what is going on with the world today. If you have taken too many then go to the hospital and get your stomach pump.
