TCM may work. But it's a poor methodology, IMO. The human body is quite complex in design, so it needs a good and thorough methodology to properly understand that complexity and to properly ascertain physiological abnormality.
TCM is based upon mystical forces like chi and doesn't use the scientific method.
China does not enjoy the abundance of good food and air we enjoy; their living standards are largely substandard as they suffer with decades of overpopulation.
During Chairman Mao's reign, upwards of 100 million Chinese were killed or starved to death. That can have a negative impact on life expectancy. Imagine the effect of 30 million deaths by murder and starvation in the US to get a picture of their living standards.
Their government still kills people...shoots them in the head and harvests their organs... although not at the rates as under Mao.
Today, they have pollution levels that keep the skies darkened with smog in many major cities. That doesn't help their average life expectancy either. Herbs can only do so much under those conditions.
Lastly, many Chinese smoke cigarettes like chimneys. I don't think they have smoke free restaurants and work places.
They would would be exempt from the Kyoto treaty, by the way, if it were implemented.
Good luck and be well.

The accident rates are much lower in the US which means it's not really "medicine" that is increasing the average life span in the US. If fewer people die of accidents and from infectious disease at a younger age, then of course it shifts the average age up.
