Do you think it would be wise to allow an inlaw to do hypnotherapy on me?

Question:
Trying to decide if she's for real or not...LOL. :) I could use the help.

Answers:
If this inlaw, in your opinion, seems to not like you, i would reccomend nto letting this person do hypnotherapy on you, if this person does like you then it's compltely going to be based on your own judgement.
No. If she's for real, it sounds like a bad idea. If she's not, then why bother.
your idea or hers?
might be something she could use against you. i would be hesitant...hard to say if shes for real?
Is he in law certified in hypnotherapy or is he/she bluffing? Hypnosis should not be taken lightly, as it involves going down to unconscious levels where you don't have the control over your behavior. This should be only be done by a professional and for professional reasons.
I really wouldn't recommend it. Its intense stuff, and should only be done by a prof. I would avoid having hypnotherapy done at all, but if you must, go to a prof that is definitely not related! They could leave you a bit messed up otherwise!
I take you don't trust this person?
I personally don't trust the professionals. Have you read in the news over the last god knows years of Dr. taking advandage of women and raping them while under for surgery, teeth pulling, hyopno's and so on.. Bad idea.

Now with your family part. If my sister, brother, mother and so on asked me. Heck yes! I turst them. I know if something should happen (get up and start walking around) they would make sure I was safe, or find a way to make me safe (key words, claps sounds or something to wake me out of it).
You need to tell the person that you trust, that you want an 100% knowledge that nothing well happen to you, that the person needs a key word or sound if trouble should come up. That your husband, father, brother or someone will be there to "wacth" for things. I personally have had brothers, sister's and so on, be in the room while I was healing someone. It was no problem with me.

So it's a trust thing. Do you trust her? Do you trust that she will not let you get harmed in any fashion?
I believe that the answer may be in what problem you would like to address. Also, would you be asking for hypnosis or hypnotherapy?

The difference between hypnotherapy and hypnosis is that in hypnosis the client is usually just led into a deep state of relaxation and offered suggestions. This is great for behavior modification, like loosing weight or stop smoking.

If you're only after hypnosis then seeing your in-law would probably be fine, since you've already said that she is certified.

The practice hypnotherapy is about accessing the subconscious mind in order to release blocks and/or limitations. Another way of thinking about it is accessing the parts of your memory that have been forgotten to release the underlying hurt and pain holding you back in life.

I practice hypnotherapy and people new to this are often very surprised at the buried memories and emotions that come up during sessions.

If you feel that you may be uncomfortable revealing too much about yourself during a session it might be better to seek out someone that you can have an independent professional relationship with.
