Is vitamin d good for multiple sclerosis?
Question:

Hi Kelly. There are several medical studies that indicate inadequate levels of vitamin D may increase the risk of developing MS. Vitamin D deficiency is now at epidemic levels in the U.S. and many other countries.
Vitamin D may also be helpful as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of MS. Here is a quote from a leading medical journal: "Vitamin D supplementation may help prevent the development of MS and may be a useful addition to therapy." -The Annals of Pharmacotherapy. June 2006.
There are only a few small studies on the effectiveness of Vitamin D as treatment. Hopefully, more studies are being done to develop a clear understanding of its potential and use.
Best wishes and good luck.
I read that grape seed is good for people with MS. just look for pharmaceutical grade good quality make sure it's made by a reputable company.
Hi Kelly A,
Kelley E here. :-)
Multiple sclerosis is an auto immune disorder. While Vitamin D might help, it won't by itself clear up an auto immune disorder. That's because auto immune disorders are complex problems with multiple things that need to be fixed.
Antibiotics, birth control drugs, and steroids are the leading suspects because they allow yeast to take over, poking holes in the intestinal lining. The drug exposure could have been many years prior...that's how long reaching the problem can be.
Those holes allow food particles to go through without being properly digested, which are then misidentified as parasites by the immune system. After a while, the overstimulated immune system attacks the tissues of the body, in this case the nerves.
I'd take olive leaf extract of Candistroy to get the yeast under control.
To patch the holes either glutamine (5 grams 2x a day) or IntestiNew.
To keep the yeast from coming back, PB-8 or some other excellent probiotic.
I'd also bombard my system with Vitalzyme for at least a couple of months, which would help to undo the scarring (sclerosis) of the nervous system
In some cases, getting rid of MS requires having all the mercury amalgams removed from the teeth.
But more likely fixing the gut problems will do it. (Mercury messes up the gut, allowing yeast to grow, which is why sometimes eliminating the mercury is an added thing that needs to be resolved.)
Good luck and be well.
Kelley
