A comparative study between sports exercise & therapeutic exercises ?
Question:
Answers:
Exercises are basically aimed at improving muscle tone, strength and to improve overall well-being of the person. The sport related exercises are basically aimed to improve the stamina of the person. This could be achieved by aerobics, weight lifting and etc; However, the individual may concentrate on improving particular part of the body by practising certain type of techniques. For example, a tennis player apart from the aerobics, he or she will need to improve the power on his/her shoulders and arms in order to have a better performance.
Unlike, the sport related exercises, therapeutic exercises are mainly aimed to regain the strength and tone of muscles that are already lost due to an illness like neuro-muscular disease. It also is aimed at improving mobility of a joint. Although, these exercises are undertaken in a health care settings, there are rehabilitation centres too majorly involve in this task.People with varying degree of paralysis due to a stroke, people with arthritis and people after having undergone any major bone and joint related surgeries are the main group for whom, these are beneficial.
Breathing exercise is other form of therapeutic exercise in which, the person achieves a steady pattern of air flow into his lungs thereby improving tissue oxygenation and eliminates waste products like carbondioxide. Person with any chronic lung problem may benefit with this task.
Both types of exercises require a trained person to teach, guide and monitor the task and progress. This may avoid any over-doing and prevent any exercise related trauma and injuries.
Hope, it helps,
