Take Care.
Cut an orange in half and rub it on the infected area. The citrus in the orange will dry up the rash. Make sure you wash your hands as much as possible while you have the rash. Use paper towels if you can. When you shower, use the towel and then wash it. Change your sheets and pillowcases frequently. The stuff spreads like wild fire to places you'd rather not have it, if you're not careful.
I second the recommendation for Rhus Tox! I am not at all allergic to poison ivy but bought a bottle of Rhus Tox pills for a friend who tried everything else. I admit I was skeptical. She had been to the doctor twice and had steroids and cream but was still miserable. I bought her the Rhus Tox on a whim. The poison ivy was almost gone the next day! I would never have believed it. She even offered to pay me twice the price of the remedy because she was so relieved. Good luck to you!
I'm not sure this will work but I've wanted to try it but until now, never happened across a case of poison ivy. I have found it fails on very few skin problems. Aloe Vera, it's cheap, all natural. I have found it to be effective on burns, sunburns, cuts, abrasions, itching, and athlete's foot among other things. Because it has been so effective on so many different things, I now try it on everything now before anything else. I buy it at the Family Dollar store for $2 for an 18 oz. bottle which lasts me a year or more. Simply apply a small amount evenly on the affected area and in a few minutes (5 or so) it is absorbed by the skin. I have also found it to be effective on animals (dogs, cats and horses). Let me know your results. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY OR IN EYES, ETC.
Take some household bleach,,mix with water,, make sure not to use to much bleach 80 % water,,to 20% bleach,,bleach will try and should kill the Posion ivy after a while,,do not use this method if around eye's,,just hands arm's leg's so forth
