What herb is used to help you sleep that won't make you dependant on it?

my husbad has trouble falling asleep and he doesnt want to take pills , but is willing to try some herbal remedies

Melatonin and/or valerian root may help.

Better yet, have him take some benedryl. It is non addictive, cheap, over the counter, and very effective. It is an antihistamine (an allergy medication) that is also sold as a sleep aid. The generic (which is fine) is diphenhydramine.
I love chamomile tea. It always works for me.
Valerian root naturally promotes drowsiness,you can get a good night sleep,and wake up refreshed again.

I have heard that catnip will help. It works the opposite on humans as cats.
Please don't give your husband Benadryl this will have him wake up with hangover effects.The best thing to give him is Melatonin your body makes this naturaly,but as we get older we don't produce enough.He will wake up refreshed ready to start his day. Sometimes you only have to take Melatonin for a week or two.Take two tablets 1 to 2 hours before bed.I take it myself my saying is"If I'm not yawning by nine take a pill". Good Luck.

how about you just give your husband alot of sex before he goes to sleep.
Mullein, rosemary, valerian, and chamomile are good sleep aids.
use warm milk with half tea spoon of turmeric powder(indian spice) in it before going to sleep.it is good for ur skin also.
