Psuedephedrine, it is a decongestant that Sudafed used to be made of. It works great for sinus symptoms like pain, congestion and can help for symptomatic relief of a sinus infection. However it is a stimulate, and druggies of the world figured out a way to make it into meth. For this reason, it is controlled, and you have to go to the counter to get it. It is still available without a prescription, it is just kept behind the counter, instead of out on display. Anyhow.. it works really well.. I hope this helps.

Using a basic nasal saline solution several times a day will help clear out the infection. It might create some discomfort for a few seconds so be ready. And it does not taste very good...but it really does help!
Hot tea w/honey will help with the pain also. The steam will help with the sinuses, while the actual tea will help sooth your throat.

I recommend you use a nasal cleansing pot(also known as neti pot)..it really clears sinus problems, allergies, and colds..My mom suffers from chronic sinus and I made her use the netti pot and now her sinuses have improved, especially the sinus pain. You can only find them in a health food store.. It's definitely better than taking all those over the counter pill which can be harmful by the way.. maybe you would like to try what the specialist had my son to do after surgery. especially if you buy salt water spray to put up you nose.
get a gallon of distilled water
mix 8 tablespoons of canning salt
4 tablespoons of baking soda
put this in the gallon of water. much stronger than salt water you buy. then buy a baby nose thing to squirt the water up. do each side with a cup of water. at least 2 to 3 times a day.

i second the neti pot, also get a grapefruit seed extract nasal spray. this will help kill of the bacteria and cleanse the infected nasal passages.
