What is vajra patra?

Question:

Answers:
Well.. since nobody else answered yet, I did a search on Yahoo... the closest thing I could find is that it's related to Buddhism. Originally vajra meant the thunderbolt or bundle of arrows of the celestial deity, but has been used as the symbol for this doctrine of Vajrayana (it's for a school of thought). A Patra is an Alms bowl.

So.. it's like an offering plate is to a baptist church (as an example).. their collection plate for their belief system.
