Answers:
Multivitamins are one pill or "vitamin" that has all the essentials you need...so you don't have to take more than one. And you can get them at any store pretty much, Walmart...Walgreens...or even just a grocery store. Hope it helped! And I take One-A-Days for women! :)
at any drug store or grocery store. its just a pill that has all your essential vitamins in it
they have more than one type of vitamin in compacted into one pill. Get them at any store
any supermarket, drugstore, pharmacy, carries them. they are pills, chewable tablets, or in some cases gummies, that contain high amounts of a lot of different essential nutrients.
Wal-Mart, K-Mart. Any local grocery store. They are a natural supplement that has alot of vitamins. There are very few nutrients in the foods we eat today. Taking one every day can improve many things such as your immune system which fights disease.

As has already been said, they are just a bunch of vitamins and minerals combined into less pills... but I wanted to give you a little more information. Most vitamins are included in the realm of pills referred to as "supplements" which are intended to be taken supplementally with your diet.
Some supplements give energy, some help relax, some cleanse, some help workouts, some help any particular part of the body (lungs, heart, skin, bones, etc), and I could go on for hours. Ultimately, different people respond differently to different supplements, so some people might not see the level of results that the bottles say (which is usually what makes people "naysayers").
That being said, the most ideal way to get all your nutrition is from your diet, but I think maybe only 2-3 people on the planet Earth actually CAN get all of their nutrition (and I mean ALL of it) from their diet. However, it would take a perfectly balanced diet, buying everything organic (or growing it yourself), and putting a lot of time and effort that most people don't want to spend.
They are intended to be supplemental (meaning not your sole source of nutrition, just something to help your diet). If you're already getting sufficient milk (with the vitamins A and D), you should be careful about your Calcium, Vit A and D because you shouldn't get too much of any of those 3.
Also, the best way to take supplements is typically in a capsule or softgel (tablets take long enough to digest that some people don't get the full benefit of them)... it's not usually better to open them up and drink them (you may actually get less benefit that way).

Multivitamins are OTC pills available at all chemists and drug stores. Multivitamins come in various packs, There are some which have a combination of vitamins A to D, some have B-complex, these variations are necessary as per the requirements of the individual. Basically, vitamins are supplements necessary for our body as we do not get all the vitamins in our daily diet. Some are also available with calcium, iron, folic acid, minerals and salts.
Taking a good multivitamin supplement is essential for many people to get the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of required vitamins, and especially for those who require therapeutic amounts far higher than the RDA. They can be especially useful for those with poor diets, and also good insurance for those who eat healthy.
Multivitamins are energizing. Multiminerals are relaxing and due to the magnesium content, stimulate elimination. For this reason it may be preferable to use a multivitamin that has but small amounts of calcium and magnesium during the day, and a multimineral at night before bed. Or someone might want to provide all the vitamins and minerals in a single supplement, even if it means using 6 or more capsules per day.
When buying a multivitamin, a useful measure is to look for 100% RDA (300mcg) or more of biotin. It is one of the nutrients which makes a difference in body appearance by stimulating hair and nail growth and improving skin, as well as helping control blood sugar levels.
The next thing to look for in a multivitamin is selenium and chromium in the amount of 70 - 200mcg. 100% RDA is sometimes stated as 70, 100, or 200mcg. Selenium is an antioxidant which protects body tissues and chromium controls blood sugar levels and regulates the pancreas. Selenium and chromium are actually minerals, not vitamins, but trace minerals like these are usually included in multivitamins. They are also included in a few multiminerals, although multiminerals more commonly only contain the "major" minerals, calcium and magnesium and sometimes zinc.
Good, basic formula for a two per day multivitamin. Widely available in local health food stores. Contains very little calcium and magnesium. Contains 100% RDA zinc per capsule (200% RDA in full daily serving size) which may be too much for some people to take at one time. 100% RDA biotin and 200mcg each selenium and chromium. Usually best to get iron free formula.
you should check out puritanspride.com and only take vitamins that are natural and not chemical based! taking chemically based vitamins is just a waste of money as your body "WILL NOT " absorb them !
