Chiropractors - how often do you go and how much does it cost?
Question:
Answers:
It varies a great deal. If you go in with a specific problem, it may not start to feel better until the Chiropractor has tried a couple of different things, or it may start to feel better from the first treatment. Everyones body is so different that it makes it very hard to predict the sort of results you are going to get.
Some people like to visit just for 'wellness' care, in which case your treatment would be ongoing. Most treatments are around $40-$50.
I disagree with a previous comment that a D.O is an M.D with superior Chiropractic skills. A D.O does not have any Chiropractic skills, they have Osteopathic skills. Thats why they are called Osteopaths, and Chiropractors are called Chiropractors..
Also you should be mindful of anyone who tries to lock you into a contract, as you should only be paying for one visit at a time.
depends on what your problems are.
carpal tunnel, two or three visits then sleep in a wrist brace each night for 3 months
back problem..if it is a disc problem 15-20 visits
if it is a sacro-iliac problem 2 or three visits .
auto accident 3-4 months of care
Try a osteopathic physcian or a D.O. that uses OMT in his office at least one time.
Basically and MD with superior chiropractic skills, thus the cost is equvalent to seeing an MD.
There are surgery options for carpal tunnel, but success rates aren't that good.
Back problems: short-term is meds, long-term exercises that strengthen and stretch back muscles.
Sorry but good healthcare in america is expensive.
I am a big fan of chiropractors. You will need to go for an initial consultation and x-rays. This is "a Test" so should be covered on your insurance, Most will insist that you go at least 2 or 3 times a week for a while until your body gets back to where it belongs. Then 1 or 2 times a week for a while, then 1 time a week then its up to you to know when you need to go. Your body will tell you. Its about $50 a visit but if you have insurance, you will pay your office visit co-pay each time. After the first few months, you will taper off. You will feel MUCH better and its really worth it. Stay away from surgery for the carpal tunnel. Most times it doesn't work. If you use chiropractic medicine, you won't need a brace or anything else. Your body will fix itself in conjunction with the chiropractic adjustments.
I am a chiropractor go about 10-15 times~ since you had the problem for a while and it cost about $40
