Its supposed to help cut your appetite, I believe. The lemon makes you less hungry. I don't know about any other benefits other than that.

I can't stand the taste of the high chlorine water where I live the lemon cuts it some so when out drink it that way. At home we use a filter so I can tolerate it better.
