Has anyone ever been to a Chiropractor? what do they do? does it hurt?

I've been attending a chiropractor for a few months now, and only have one doctor see me. It doesn't hurt (surprisingly - my body responds poorly to pain), but feels like a release of pressure and tension in my back. I had another lady fill in for my doctor while she was on vacation and she used what my doctor refered to, unfavorably, as "force" in chiro(as opposed to coaxing). I found they were both good, but the second seemed to be a bit more thorough and last a bit longer.

Chiropractors adjust the bones in your body to be where they should be, relieving tension on the surrounding skeletal muscles and nerves, improving posture in some cases, and relieving pain in almost all.
After a very bad car accident I was bed ridden for the better part of 6 years A chiropractor got me walking again. They realign the spine, but do go to a Registered one only. A muscle man is good too between the both of them I believe they both helped me all the Dr's did was give me drugs, that was it. No it does not hurt and if anyone causes you pain stop going. Maybe a little uncomfortable some times but that is it. I swear by them. Good luck to you.
I am seeing one now for hip pain (hip dislocated during childbirth, didn't pop back into place quite right). It doesn't hurt at all, maybe a bit tender at times, but not any pain. He moves and manipulates my hip, makes sure everything is aligned correctly and gave me a sheet of exercises to do at home to strengthen the hip area. I've only had five visits and he's done wonders.
Yes I have . And no it should not hurt? I would make sure to choose a reputable Dr. Do some research and ask questions and ask for referrals from perhaps your family practice Dr. Ask other patients what their experience has been with the doctor in question. Ask the chiropractor ?'s and listen well. Doctors should not take offense when questioned abt. anything they've said. Ask what your options are? I recently went to a orthopedic because I was experiencing bursitis I thought (Had it before) He told me after a MRI that I had a bone spur in the shoulder area. I asked what are my options ? He said I could take Relephen (Ibuprofen) ,Physical therapy, or surgery to remove the spur. I opted for the Relephen first. I asked what would the Relephen do to me If I took it for the time he said. He said that I would not be taking it long enough to do any damage to my stomach. Well its working. but I would like to know why would that work if I truly have a bone spur. Doesn't make sense to me . So listen well to how they answer. Sometimes doctors just tell you anything not expecting to be questioned.
Chiropractors crack your neck and back- This doesn't hurt if done right but it can catch you off guard. It helps to really be able to relax while he does this. Also they now have chiropractors that don't do any cracking so look for them as well. I went for almost a year and did well . It helped my back discomfort and got rid of my migraines too. but I still even after the relief I don't like the idea of be cracked. some people don't mind. I am now looking for a chiropractor that does not crack me.
I've heard that once you start, you can't stop or you'll have back pain for a long time. But that's just what I've heard.
Chiropractors adjust your vertebrae where-ever vertebrae are out of alignment. Vertebrae (i'm sure you know this already) are what make up your spine. Some chiropractors will also re-align joints that are off. My bad soccer knee, for example. It does not hurt, nor should it hurt, to have chiropractic care.
If you need your cervical spine adjusted (your neck) it will be alright if you relax. There is also a small instrument called an activator the DC can use if you are worried about receiving a high velocity neck adjustment.
they realign your body in order for it to work properly. I have had help with chiroprators where as doctors just wanted me to take shots for pain. I used to not be able to turn my neck from the pain. now I am pain free from chiropratic care.
