Question:

Answers:
SJW is used to treat depression. It is the drug of choice in many European nations. Melatonin is a hormone that makes people go to sleep.
St. Johns Wort is for depression and Melatonin is for sleep. They are not both for sleep.
sjw is a an antideperession alterative. it helps mood elavation, makes some people feel happy or eases depression.
melatonin is a naturally occuring hormone that simulates the sleep process.
with both it is recomended to use in smaller doseages. use with caution. anything, drug or herb, that stimulates a state of happiness or euphoria can be addictive, even in small amounts.
Good heath to you!
Melatonin has been used by a lot of people for sleeping disorders, especially when they are traveling from country to country and crossing into different time zones. I've heard from a few people that it does help you get back on track.
As far as St. John's Wort goes, it had it's day when people thought it was the wonder drug, the natural supplement that would replace taking SSI uptake inhimbitors. It certainly made people with no insurance very happy as they thought they had found the answer to depression in a cheap herb vs a very expensive perscription drug. As often happens, it didn't work out the way they had hoped and St. John's Wort ended up being quite bad for you. it doesn't cure depression, in fact it makes it worse in the long run and should definetly be stayed away from at all costs.
Actually- the smallest pinch of St. John's Wort, some Skullcap, chammomile, comfrey and a couple of good pinches of Valarium root makes the best 'sleep' tea. There is a natural already made sleep enhancer called 'Silent Night' with those very herbs in it, as well as hops.
I don't know about the depression or other problems I've heard about, I never had a problem with it. The trick is not to over-take it. Anything, no matter how good it is for you will hurt you if you abuse it.
Don't know enough about Melatonin to say.just yet.
Melatonin is a hormone that helps many to sleep.

SJW is an herbal which helps many with mild forms of "depression."

They really have nothing to do with each other so when you ask what the difference is...sort of everything because they're considered similar in the first place.
