Colon cleanses?

Question:
I couldn't help but laugh when I first saw them advertised on TV. It sounded so ridiculous. Yet, many people think they're a phenomenal cure-all for all sorts of ailments. Then, some say they're just a huge scam, and can even be harmful. (http://www.quackwatch.org/01quackeryrela... has an article about this) Still, the promise of weight loss and extra energy is always tempting. Has anyone here ever tried one? What kind of results did you have, was it what you expected? How much did you pay? TY for any info.

Answers:
I agree, Colon Cleansing is a total waste of time and money.

Take Care and God Bless you.
Not from T.V. and not for the intent of losing weight. You should consult with an educated herbalist/nutritionist/homeopa... who understands how supplements work with the body. Everyone's body is different but most people do have many pounds of old fecal matter in their systems that needs to be eliminated. Your colon feeds every organ in the body through the walls straight to the blood. You truly are what you eat and you cannot get the benefit of your food or have optimal health with your "septic pipes" backed up, clogged and otherwise dirty with buildup (mucous) and with slow or sluggish elimination habits. I clean my body for more energy and the other health benefits as I do not need to lose weight.
Old timers use to recognize the need for a good annual cleaning out of the body. We worm our animals regularly after all so why do we think we do not need to cleanse our bodies and rid ourselves of parasites occassionally? It's not a new concept but someone is making it into a circus sideshow what is tried and true just to profit. Definitely do not buy from the T.V.
Almost every disease has it's source in the gut-getting it cleaned out is a good thing. There are many ways to do that besides colon cleanses or colonics.
It's important to first understand your bodies needs and the signals it's giving you in the form of symptoms. For example: Are you regular, without constipation or struggle, no outbreaks of pimples outside of once a month, do you have bumps or rigginess on your outter part of the upper arms, sometimes called "Teenage Bumps", do you have indegistion or heartburn a lot? You know, questions to ask yourself and if the body's response is a few or alot of the above, then perhaps a cleansing of the body would be good, but a colon cleanse would not complete this task.
You need a clease that is gentle, effective, cleanses the endocrine system, lymphmatic system and digestive tract and the colon as well and gives your body system the need support while it's preforming this task. It shouldn't have you S***ing throught the eye of a needle either. And most people do experience a weight reduction of some amount.
If you would like to try something like I described, I would recommend www.dandesoap.com. She is a friend of mind and a fellow herbalist and her site does offer the same one I have used for the past two years. She will also answer and concerns or questions you have and provide you with information to support every herb that is being used with thorough instructions for the length of time to use it. Usually a single bag within 7 to 10 days. It's a tea and it tastes pleasant I might add. I don't dreed using it at all. You can email me if you like. Best of luck!
Would be better to go on a fresh made juice fast for a couple days.
we cannot believe the advertisment on the tv.sometimes it sound rediculous.im never tried because its will cost me a lot.
Yes, I've done several forms of colon cleansing: some with herbs, some just high fiber to "brush" out things, several colonics performed by a certified colonic hydrotherapist.

I can honestly say that I can feel a difference and have found it helpful to do regular colon cleansing. My skin is clearer (I used to have horrible acne) and I have more energy.

The products cost anywhere from $10 per month to $200 per month, depending on what you use; colonics are usually about $60 or $75 per treatment.
