You know the pro-biotic drinks is there an alternative for people that can't have dairy products?
Question:
Answers:
you can get pro-biotic vitamins from the health food shop xxx
There are actually a lot of probiotics in capsules that are non-dairy. If you shop in a health food store, it could take most of an hour to read all of the bottles, so you may want to consider a mail order company or some company that you can call by phone... typically they will have people that know if they have a non-dairy source or not.
I know we carry a few dairy-free probiotics that some customers have to take if they are lactose intolerance, and we have a LOT of customers that use probiotics and get a lot of benefit from them (especially if they have digestive problems or are missing some probiotics). Some people don't notice any benefit if they have a good digestive tract, though.
I've personally never heard of a probiotic drink, but I'm not sure how effective (or accurate) they could be.. probiotics don't have a very long lifespan when they are active (like they are in liquids), plus there would be no way to verify how many you will get in any specific dose since they could swim anywhere in the bottle.
Yep it's called saving your money. I have tried them all and haven't felt any different.
Yes, you can buy them in capsule form from say a reputable company like Healthspan 0800 7312377. I use these quite successfully. They are scientifically proven to withstand the stomach acid on their journey to the intestines. On line at www.healthspan.co.uk . £9.95 for 90 caps. They do work, my daughter had I.B.S. and is now painfree.
the drinks are unnecessary, unless you have a problem in producing your own bacteria in your gut, or you are taking Any inflammatory such as Ibuprofen, it is a sales gimmick
when my son was diagnosed as milk intolerant we saw a private nutritionist who put him on acidophillus to balance his gut from taking in all that fat he could'nt digest - it worked, he was calmer as was his tum - acidophillus, i believe is similar to the properties in these drinks - i use acidophillus whenever i have the need to take anit-biotics cos apparantly they upset the balance in the gut - acidophillus is easy to get from health food shops. Perhaps look it up on the net and make up your own mind.
yes. lepicol, get it from health shops. it is for healthy bowels. it is great.
Natural probiotics include bananas, onions, garlic, artichokes, barley, rye, tomatoes, honey, and asparagus..
(please see link about 5-6th paragraph)...
but to make sure you're getting the right amount to have a real effect, you'll need to take a supplement, there used to be one that I knew of but I can't find any info about it anymore on this site,I did find another one but I'm not 100% sure about it.

but your best bet is contacting this company, which sells vitmians/supplements & they specialise in these things,
ask them about dairy free probiotic or if the product above is one that is 100%dairy free.
Soy milk can always be used as a dairy product substitute. Soy milk, in most cases, is fortified with calcium so that its calcium content is about the same as in ordinary cow's milk.
Soy milk, unfortunately, is unsuitable for kids.
Calcium supplements are another way to get extra calcium.
No dairy in them
