THERE R NO DISADVANTAGES IN AYURVEDIC TREATMENT
I have found there aren't any other than changing one's diet, eliminating foods that aggravate one's particular constitution (We tend to crave that to which we are most allergic, especially when we are eliminating it from our systems...), and having to be more disciplined about cooking and eating on a schedule and a regimen and taking herbs I hadn't taken before. In general, it was just adjusting to "newness", and ultimately the recommendations we so helpful and I felt so much better, that I didn't mind any inconvenience.
None: It is non-invasive and should be safe for anyone.

Pharmaceutical drugs, on the other hand, are highly toxic and newer ones are being found to be even more addictive and toxic than ones made just a few years ago.

One company just lost over 600 million in fines when the courts found that the company knew their popular drug was highly addictive and some people would even end up permanently addicted to it.
its take long time for results, heat
The disadvantage is that you cannot use Allopathy or Homeopathy medicine while undergoing Ayurvedic treatment..
dere r no disadvantages in Ayurveda...
Ayurvedic treatment is not just medicinal treatment. It teaches you the way of life. What to eat, how to eat, when to eat, why to eat etc etc and it is not only about eating. It is about drinking, sleeping, behaving, working and all aspects of life. It is not only about medicines to cure the deceases but about preventing the troubles.

Yes, there can be disadvantages if you do not obey or observe the 'pathya' or 'parhej'. Over dosage also may lead to some troubles. (With many ayurvedic medicines there are some 'do's and 'do not's which if obeyed give best results.)

But in general there are not great disadvantages compared to allopathic treatment.
Ayurvedic treatment IS BEST THEN THE OTHER treatmenT & NO DISADVANTAGES IN AYURVEDIC. GO FOR AYURVEDIC!
There are no disadvantages in ayurveda. All the medicines are herbal, they help in healing and fast. If you mean by side effects, then there are very few side effects and are very easily manageable. Since there are no synthetic chemicals added to them, the side effects are purely natural, and are expressions of the efficacy of the medicines.

No disadvantages. Some preparations are hot for the body and you need to take them with milk to neutralise the heat. Some are difficult to prepare at home. They are cumbersome like preparing kashayams or khadas at home. Now a days it is very difficult to get the genuine ingredients. We are forced to depend on the brands available over the counter. Ayurveda is prescribed based on the tridosha principles and it always depends on the doctor who checks your pulse rather than listening to your complaints.

I've had great success with Ayurvedic medicine for chronic problems and would recommend it to anyone.
In getting treatments, of course like with any medical modality you want to make sure you have a good doc directing it.
The only problem I have heard of with Ayurved is people having illness after getting certain treatments in foreign countries where they don't have the sanitary standards that we have in the US.
