Reaction about euthanasia?
Question:
Answers:
If a person knows that they are going to die a slow painful death then I think it should be up to them and nobody else whether they should be euthenised.
i'm on the fence abt mercy killing. no one is God. so they can't decide who shud die and when they shud die.
the best way is to have everyone have a written will/piece of evidence that states whether they would allow euthansia to be performed on them shud they be brain-dead.
that way doctors or relatives will know what to do. and won't be judged by the others unfairly.
in my practice it is common that we talk and mostly the wish to die in the form of euthanasia is over. with painkillers and sedation you can do a lot. But if the person wish to go you have to respect that, but formally it is will that has to be written in consciousness.
I believe that the person who is really ill/ dying should be legally allowed to nominate a person of their choice and who is willing to help them in their plight.
For the obvious and awful reason that they can't do it themselves.
