Best tea for Crohns Disease?
Question:
Answers:
hi, I am a fellow crohn's patient for over 20 yrs. I am not sure what you mean by best tea. Is it for a specific problem like nausea? stomach spasms? Ginger is good for nausea and mint is good for the spasms but you must check with your GI before taking anything alternative as it may interact with any medications you are on.
If you go to the CCFA web site they have an 800 # you can call MpF 9 am - 5pm and an online chat where you can talk to health care professionals even dieticians who are familiar with IBD (crohns or ulcerative colitis). Also, on the site you can download information on medications, surgery, diet, coping, and even locate a ccfa chapter where you can meet others like yourself and attend their educationals meetings where they have speakers such as dieticians, surgeons, drug reps, insurance reps. etc.
I can relate to what you are dealing with. The only advice I have is to avoid smoking, drinking, as it will interfere with treatment & worsen the CD symptoms, eat well when you can, keep your appts. with your doctors, and take your medications on time. If you have questions, call your pharmacist or MD. Good luck to you.
Peppermint.
But why quit there? Take slippery elm and olive leaf extract, too.
Add PB-8 or another excellent probiotic.
And absolutely take InstestiNew for one or two months. This can heal the intestines like you wouldn't believe.
Plus whenever you eat, be sure to take an excellent mutli-enzyme to help relieve the stress on your colon.
In a month, you'll feel like a new person.
Good luck and be well.

None, but can be treated with adult (not embryonic) stem cells. Do a search.
i have it too. and have several teas i like . it just depends on if its a good stomach day or a bad one... chamomile, is best... then sometimes mint... i dont like strong green tea, hurts the guts. but i did find one that is white tea and pomegranite. yummy...best advice is keep it mild, until you know which ones work for you. but again, CHAMOMILE is the best for good and bad stomach days...
Mint tea is good for digestion in general.
Anyone who has any kind of intestinal inflamation, I urge you to read up on Celiac Disease. I had a lot of intestinal inflamation and pain, I eliminated wheat and glutens and now no problems. It's very obvious; if I "cheat" once in a while I'm OK but if I have several days of wheat or processed foods my symptoms return. Note that processed foods (anything with "dextrose" or "hydrolized" proteins, for example) have glutens which are the trigger for Celiac Disease.
Note that I heard of this condition via word of mouth then read about it on line, a specialist doctor I went to could not figure out what was wrong with me. It would be really great for this country if our medical schools started teaching more about diet, nutritional supplements, food allergies, etc.
Aloe vera juice or "white gold" powder made from aloe vera juice is also supposed to be good for intestinal problems. The white gold powder is expensive, however.
Good luck!
Peppermint tea is an excellent tonic for Crohn's sufferers. It reduces nausea, relives abdominal pain, and has a calming effect. Use with caution if you have reflux problems.
Chamomile tea will help reduce intestinal inflammation.
