Do probiotic formulas for humans really help?
Question:
Answers:
Probiotic formulas are a good way to go. They help promote balance in the intestinal flora which in turn helps everything else you take medicine and supplement-wise work either a whole lot better or just as they should. They help replace/balance the good bateria in our intenstines which in turn do a whole bunch of other wonderful things for our bodies.
i think there is some evidence they can help modestly with certain forms of irritable bowel syndrome. they dont perform miracles or help with vaginal yeast infections though as a lot of their supporters will likely claim in following posts
Yes it does and here is a short desription of what it does, incase you wanna know. :)
PROBIOTIC FORMULA'S
Not all strains of beneficial bacteria are created equal. For each type of bacteria there are recognized super strains. Choose a formula that uses only recognized super strains of beneficial bacteria. they will be identified on the label or in the company literature. If the strains are not identified, don’t buy it. Make sure the formula was developed using full-culture processing so that the beneficial bacteria and its powerful supernatant are kept together. The supernatant, which is the medium the culture was grown in, contains a multitude of beneficial byproducts of the growth process, including vitamins, enzymes, anti-oxidants and immune stimulators. Take note of manufacture date, die-off rate after 60 days increase a drastically. Heat and moisture accelerate the process, so keep it in fridge after purchase and make sure the supplier also had it refrigerated. There are many beneficial bacteria that can be contained in a good probiotic, but two are preeminent.
• L. acidophilus, resides primarily in the small intestine (also vaginal tract) and produces a number of powerful antimicrobial compounds in the gut (including acidolin, acidolphilin, lactocidin, and bacteriocin). These compounds can inhibit the growth and toxin producing capabilities of some 23 known disease-causing pathogens (including campylobacter, listeria and staphylococci), as well as reduce tumor growth and effectively neutralize or inhibit carcinogenic substances. There are 3 recognized super strains of acidophilus: DDS, NAS and BT1386. You will find DDS and NAS in most of the better formulas, but BT1386 is better. It has an extremely high potential for attachment to the epithelial cells that line the intestine. It’s a high producer of hydrogen peroxide, which kills pathogenic bacteria, and of the 3 strains it’s the only one capable of utilizing glycogen to survive and flourish which means it can thrive in the urinary tract where it produces lactic acid to inhibit the growth of pathogens. This is particularly important to woman to help prevent a range of vaginal infections.
• Bifidobacteria: It is believed that declining levels of bifidobacteria in the large intestine actually mark the eventual onset of chronic degenerative disease. Bifidobacteria benefit the body in numerous ways: (1) Consume old fecal matter, (2) have the ability to remove cancer-forming elements, or the enzymes which leads to their formation, (3) protects agains the formation of liver, colon and mammary gland tumors, (4) and in addition to all this, bifidobacteria are substantial producers of a range of important B vitamins.
But more is not always beter, if there is too many beneficial bacteria in one formula then the bacteria may compete with each other before they can establish themselves in separate areas of the intestinal tract. But there are several bacteria that is extremely beneficial in any formula:
• L. salivarius helps digest food in the intestinal tract and makes vital nutrients more assimilable. It also eats away encrusted fecal matter throughout the entire colon and helps repair the intestinal tract by providing needed enzymes and essential nutrients, and it adheres to the intestinal wall, thereby forming a living matrix that helps protect the mucosal lining.
L. rhamnosus is a powerfull immune stimulator.
Peace be with you

Yes, they help quite a bit for digestion, absorption of nutrients, and general bowel movements. I've been taking Probiotics for several months, and members of my family have been taking them for years.
Different people respond differently to different supplements, so it's hard to say which one may work the best for you, but there are a LOT of customers we have that order various probiotics and most of them get a huge benefit from them.
Absolutely! It's the one vitamin that I would never skip.
Definitely.
Yup...I have been sickly the last few years. I have a new doc who suggested a good probiotic...that was 4 months ago and I HAVEN"T BEEN SICK SINCE! WOOHOO!! :) Everyone around me can get sick...but it's like I have a protective forcefield! ha ha. I will always take it. I even upped my dose this weekend with a bout of food poison and an hour after I took it.I felt sooo much better!
