Question:
Manuka Honey (10+) that has been opened and in the fridge for several months. Would this still be fit for consumption. Would the natural antibacterial viability be lost to other potentially harmful microbes? Any refs to back this up plus why not to use it. Thanks in advance.
Answers:
There is a difference of opinion on whether honey loses it's anti-microbial properties.
Most claims are that honey (even manuka) doesn't have an expiration date.
I would think it's fine. Honey is so strong bacteria can't grow in it.
I have some Manuka Honey that I've had for a year or two that seems fine.
