Why does everyone hate the FDA? Who should we trust?
Question:
Answers:
I don't think everyone hates the FDA. They occasionally make mistakes, approving a product that turns out to have unforeseen side affects. On the other hand, sometimes they seem to take forever to approve a product that people are eager to buy. I think that overall they have a good track record. This country has a reasonably safe food and drug supply. No organization could be perfect in that capacity unless they had the ability to see into the future.

DUDE...HE'S THE MAN...YU CAN'T TRUST THE MANN! BUT YU CAN TRUST THE WOMAN...THEY SHOULD CALL iT THE FDWA!
I don't hate them and can't imagine why anyone would. . . . ?
Did you hear what recently happened to the head of the "Chinese" equivalent to our FDA?
They executed the guy, week before last.
I'm not joking.
I only trust myself and my own body.
I take complete responsibility for understanding what i am absorbing.
I really dont understand how anyone can have faith in another person on deciding on something this important.
people try to sell me food thats laced with **** and has no nutrients everyday. As far as im concerned its ridiculous to believe that others have my best interests at heart.
Information is so accessible these days, whenever i am in doubt i don't go looking for someone to tell me what to do, i go looking for information myself so i can make my own informed decision.
sure its not a foolproof methodology but i feel its at least a hundred times better because your out there trying.
one of the things people dont understand is that the consumer does have the final say. if we all did our own research and decided to stop eating things that contain poisions (msg, aspartame, hydorolized vegetable protiens, amphetamine based prescription drugs) the market for them would disapear and the people profiting of human misery would go out of business.
Its more than that for me really, i just believe whole heartedly in taking control of your own life, your rights and! your responsibilities.
50% of the FDA's operating budget is paid for by the drug companies they are supposed to regulate. It has been shown, several times in just the past few years, that they will choose to keep drugs on the market that are declared unsafe by top researchers. What motivation do they have to do so other than to protect their own operating budget as well as monies that some of the directors may be receiving on the side or in future "consulting fees" after they leave the FDA.
Right now you cannot trust the pharmaceutical companies that develop the drugs the FDA approve. They lie and cheat their way to approval with biased clincal studies and a lot of money...
They create drugs that kill and create more drugs to combat the side effects of others. They make up names for simple things like indegestion by calling it Acid reflux, then create a drug you think you cannot live without. then when your body reacts to the drug they sell you another one to make it all better again... and so on and so on...
The FDA Approve synthetic drugs that kill... they do not approve natural products that heal... go figure that one.
I don't hate the FDA. That said...
When I wrote the book "The Doctor Who Cures Cancer" I spoke with a physician who was raided by the FDA in his home.
The doctor had invented a machine that could detect cancer a year or two prior to what is available now. That was his 'crime.'
He told me that one of the agents held a gun on him six inches from his nose. The other agents took everything out of his home. They also taped the door of his office forbidding entry.
Dr. Jonathan Wright had a similar experience. His 'crime' was using Vitamin B without a preservative. His office videotaped the raid.
The FDA raided and took the medical files of Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski's patients and never returned them.
They have raided the homes of those helping to provide Laetrile to cancer patients.
They have devoted their energies to prevent people who have intractable pain with cancer from smoking pot to relieve their pain.
After Royal Rife invented a machine that cured 100% of the patients he treated, the FDA proceeded to round up every machine in the US and destroyed them.
Meanwhile, the FDA approves drugs with glee...drugs that kill well over 150,000 patients a year.
It's clear that a large part of their operations has been to be the "enforcer" protecting the interests of the drug manufacturers. Many agents go to work for those drug makers after they leave the FDA. It's an incestuous relationship.
In sum, the FDA is responsible for the suffering of cancer patients for the last seventy years...killing more people than have died in all of our wars.
The FDA does so much that is wrong and so little that is for the benefit of the people that it's powers should be reduced dramatically.
If the Access To Medical Treatment Act were passed, it would allow the FDA to control drug approval but also allow patients to use other treatments if that is their choice without fear of reprisal from the FDA. (Controlled substances would not be allowed under this law.)
Right now, the FDA has far, far too much power.
Thanks for asking that great question.

PS. Today many people have machines that are called Rife machines, but they are reconstructed machines based on Rife's discoveries. They do work, but that doesn't change the fact that the FDA did seize all of his original machines and destroy them.
There is one nonworking Rife machine in a museum in the UK.
I have a Rife machine and know many, many people that have one. So some of the rumours that you hear about the FDA need to be taken with a grain of salt.
It is rumors like the 'Rife' machine one, that lead people to hate entities like the FDA.
The FDA just needs to be properly staffed and funded by the Government, then they could actually make a difference regarding imports in the news lately.
YOURSELF!
Ryan White's Answer may be the best answer I have EVER read on this site. This is what it means to take responsibility for your own health, and it is the ONLY true state of health, the self being in charge of the self...Everything else is just "Big Daddy" taking care of you and absolving you of taking responsibility for yourself.
Besides, when was it EVER a good idea to trust the government, please?
If you're not outraged at what's going on, you're asleep.
Because they are more concerned with making money for certain pharmaceutical companies than the health of the American public.
For example: they tried to ban herbs, yet keep Tylenol legal. Tylenol is horrible for your liver.
It is illegal to sell the herb stevia as a sweetener (without adding sugar so like they do at TJ's), yet aspartame is legal.
They are hated because they are clearly corrupt. And try to take control of people lives. In a 'free' country, you should be free to put whatever you want to in your own body.
Who to trust? That's a hard one. One has to do lots of research, tradition, and other countries.
