What sort of foods promote relaxation or decreased anxiety?

Question:
I'm not looking for an exotic herbal supplement or anything, just foods that generally help decrease stress levels, or foods to avoid that tend to cause it. Stress relief methods would also be helpful! I'm just looking to relieve a little of the tension and anxiety I've felt lately. While it's not at a dangerous level, it's not particularly healthy, and it's kind of mentally taxing.

Answers:
Carbs. Try adding more whole grains into your diet. They increase serotonin production in your brain which cause feelings of calmness. Choose good-for-you carbs, such as whole wheat pasta, breads, oatmeal, and unsweetened natural cereals such as puffed rice and wheat, You don't need much. One serving of any of the above options should help. Good Luck!
