If im taking this prescription flexirell for my muscle spasm. Is it suppose to make me very drowsy?

Question:
All the time i take it? Please help.

Answers:
It does make some people drowsy.
Drowsiness is a common side effect of cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril).
Try taking a calcium-Magnesium-zinc pill with each meal daily. This will help with muscle spasms and cramps.
Yes, it will make you drowsy. But what are you really taking it for? Muscles go into spams for a reason. Either your electrolytes are out of balance and the chemistry of the muscle is telling it to contract when unnessary, or the nerve to the muscle is irritated sending the wrong signal. If the muscle spasm is in your back, that is your bodies natural way of protecting itself from further injury to the spinal column. Get it checked out by a good chiropractor. If you went to your MD with muscle spasms and they just told you to "Take this," get another opinion. Preferably from someone who will help answer the question "Why is this happening?" Don't settle for "It just happens." That's an "I have no idea, but lets just try some drugs and see what happens" approach.
