My boyfriend's mind keeps racing at night, he can't sleep, he goes through these spells every few months

Question:
Are there any techniques or natural remedies he can take or try? Neither of us had more than 4 hours sleep last night i had i job interview early in the morning. when i came home we stayed up until about 9 i think i got some sleep but i dont really feel like it but my boyfriend just layed there. I know about valarien root and the natural sleeping pills but are there any home concoctions?

Answers:
I can only suggest a system for him such as this:
Wake up early, something around 7-9 AM.
Among other things, get A LOT of exercise. Go running, play sports, etc. Try to use up all the energy possible by the end of the day. Get into bed at 9 or 10 PM sharp. It doesn't matter if he doesn't fall asleep right away. While he's in bed, he cannot talk much- only calm whispers. It's advised that he takes warm milk about this time. Keep the room warm and some type of static/white noise playing. Have him try breathing slowly and calmly, it helps prepare the body for sleep.

Keep to the schedule, even if it takes him until 6 AM to fall asleep, wake him at the same time the next morning. Eventually, if not the next day, he will start to fall asleep earlier and easier.

It also helps if you couple this with natural sleeping pills which supplement Melatonin, but it's not necessary.

Hope this helps,

JUST RELAX
He probably has a physical job and he may be worrying the same as you about your landing a job. Both of you need some Chamomile tea to soothe the nerves, relieve stress and help you both to sleep soundly.
You can find Chamomile tea in the grocery store coffee isle. Sweeten to tea and be ready to hit the sack within 20 mins. of drinking it. It's a good thing to keep in the house b/c it's good for curing pink eye, allergies of the eyes, calm the nerves, great for insomnia, kills infections and bacterias of wounds, cools sunburns and the list grows long.
- warm milk
- lukewarm bath with aroma therapy...lavendar, soaking salts
- chamomille tea
- working out earlier in the day, at least 5 hours before bed time
- don't watch television in bed
- 2-3 hours prior to bed, utilize soft lighting...sets the melatonin in your brain...prompts the body for sleep

hope it helps!
That Used To Happen To My Cousin,
And All I Can Say Is
Drink Some Warm Milk
A Few Cookies Or Something,
Try Not To Watch Tv
Or Use The Computer Alot,
And Just Lay Down And
Try Not To Think About alot Of Things.
Well Hopefully That'll Help
Your Boyfriend Out. =]
Terra flu night-time tea. It's used to clear your system, and knock you out. Alot of people use it when they have flu, however, it's not a flu medicine, it's a tea, that besides clearing any synus irritation makes anyone sleep.

Combine:

He can also combine it with camomile, and No it's not dangerous because their both tea. Only that he will fall asleep like a rock, and probably have trouble waking up. But that's what you want right? Best way to make people that suffer insomnia have a goodnight sleep without taking any medications.
Tell him to press down on his sternum (the long vertical bone in the middle of the chest) and massage it. He might find out doing this releases a dull, sore pain. This is because he is so uptight and awake, and doing this will relax him. I believe the pressure on the sternum is why some of us prefer to sleep on our stomachs.
