Is this a cold sore or something else?

My sister told me that it could be a cold sore, but i have never had one. I bought some Abreva a while ago, but i dont know if this will help or if i need to see a doctor.

sometimes fever blisters or cold sore will cause your whole lip to swell, tomorrow you should know if it is a cold sore..if you can't tell and the abreva doesn't help then go to your doctor.

Abreva is only good when you first feel the effects, and if you have never had one then it is hard to know just what is going on. It sounds to me like you have one, and it is a bad one. Thats how I get them.its awful. Make sure and make an appointment to see the doctor as soon as possible. It is better to have a doctor look at it, and let you know what is going on. It could be infected..If it is a cold sore, ask for zoverax...it is amazing. As soon as you start using it, the swelling will go down, and In 2 days it will be gone.

To be honest with you, it sounds like you have herpes. It's more common than most people think. Being that your glands are swollen, that's definite sign of some sort of infection. Go see your doctor to be on the safe side.
